We seek an experienced Full-Time Controller & Fractional CFO to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tax preparation and filings, financial strategy, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting for our home services and construction clients. This role requires strong accounting expertise, the ability to provide strategic financial guidance, and hands-on involvement in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tax Preparation & Compliance:
• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for clients.
• Ensure tax compliance and provide strategic tax planning advice.
• Stay up to date on tax law changes and implications for clients.
• Fractional CFO Services:
• Provide high-level financial strategy and insights to clients.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Guide clients in making data-driven financial decisions to enhance profitability and growth.
• WIP Reporting & Financial Oversight:
• Develop and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports to help construction and home service businesses track project profitability.
• Oversee financial reporting, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and job costing analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements for financial operations.
• Accounting & Financial Management:
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure financial accuracy.
• Provide clients with financial insights and reporting to improve business performance.
Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or EA certification preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting, tax, and financial advisory experience.
• Expertise in QuickBooks Online and strong proficiency in WIP reporting.
• Proven experience working with small businesses, particularly in the home services and construction industries.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, tax regulations, and financial best practices.
• Ability to explain financial concepts in an accessible way to non-financial business owners.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to client financial management.
